Dog Series

My work is a tribute to the quiet, expressive power of animals—specifically dogs—and the profound relationships we share with them. Using charcoal and graphite pencils, I aim to capture not only the physical likeness of each dog I draw, but also the emotional essence that makes them so deeply loved by the humans in their lives.

Charcoal allows me to play with depth and contrast, creating bold, emotive compositions, while graphite gives me the precision to render fine details like fur texture, glistening eyes, or the subtle tilt of a head. Each portrait is a study in personality and presence. I work closely from reference photos, but I’m most interested in what lies beyond the surface—the softness of a gaze, the quirk of a smile, the dignity of aging.

For me, drawing dogs is an act of devotion. These portraits are not just representations, but quiet meditations on loyalty, joy, and the small, soulful moments that make a life shared with animals so meaningful.
