Curly Pet
UX/UI DESIGN
Curly Pet is a software solution, exclusively designed for boarding, daycare, and grooming facilities. Curly is packed with robust features such as customer communication, boarding scheduling, grooming ticket management, staff management, and analytics reports.
Curly Pet came to me with the need to redesign the existing online booking experience. The old design was outdated and required more love on the visual side. The project brief included designing the landing page, login, profile, and booking pages.

The Problem
The client wanted the design to be more playful and fun. The existing online booking experience was empty and missing visual interest. The forms were confusing to the user as well. Below are some screenshots of what the flow looked like.

User Personas
When designing a web experience, it’s important to learn who will be using the product and how they will interact with it. I created a user persona chart for both the pet owner and the grooming salon. With these personas in mind, it helped me to determine how certain pages will be designed.
Sitemap
I created a sitemap to better understand the flow of each page in the user’s journey to book a grooming appointment for their pet. This started with the landing page that the grooming companies can customize with images and information. Next, was a login experience for users to create a profile and add their pets. After that, pet owners can select services and book an appointment with a groomer using the calendar.
Wireframes
The next step was to create wireframes to get a better sense of how the pages would look and function. I mocked up the user flow starting from the landing page, to the pet owner profile, and finally the calendar for booking appointments. Once I had an idea of the page layout, the other pages followed this template.
The Solution
The final step was to design the pages in Figma. The result was a more fun, playful design with illustrations and icons that help the user flow through the booking experience. The pages are simple and easy to navigate. Grooming companies now have a template to create a landing page for their salons and pet owners can log in and add pets and services to book an appointment with a groomer.
The Design
The login and confirmation pages were designed similarly: two-column layouts with information on the left and a photo or illustration on the right. A 404 Error page was also created.
Mobile Design
After the web pages were approved, the mobile version was designed in Figma. Having the mobile experience was essential because many of Curly Pet’s clients are on the go and use the booking experience on their phones.
